Zero Harm Goal
We are committed to zero harm on all our construction sites. Every worker goes home safe, every day.
Site Safety
All sites are secured and managed with comprehensive safety protocols, PPE requirements, and regular inspections.
Compliance
Full compliance with WorkSafe NZ regulations, Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, and industry best practices.
Training
Ongoing safety training for all team members and subcontractors, including Site Safe certification.
Hazard Management
Proactive hazard identification, assessment, and control measures on every project.
Certifications
Site Safe member with trained personnel holding current first aid, working at heights, and scaffolding certifications.

Policy Statement
Action Homes NZ will:
- Comply with all applicable health and safety legislation, regulations, and codes of practice
- Provide safe plant, equipment, and systems of work
- Ensure safe use, handling, storage, and transport of substances and equipment
- Maintain safe and healthy work environments
- Provide adequate facilities for workers' welfare
- Provide information, training, instruction, and supervision to ensure safety
- Consult with workers on health and safety matters
- Monitor the health of workers and workplace conditions
Site Safety Procedures
Before Work Begins
- Site-specific safety plans are developed for each project
- Hazard identification and risk assessment completed
- Emergency procedures established and communicated
- All workers inducted on site-specific hazards and controls
During Construction
- Daily site safety briefings (toolbox talks)
- PPE requirements enforced at all times
- Regular safety inspections and audits
- Incident reporting and investigation procedures
- First aid facilities and trained personnel on site
- Secure site perimeters and signage
Worker Responsibilities
All workers on Action Homes sites are required to:
- Take reasonable care for their own health and safety
- Take reasonable care that their actions don't adversely affect others
- Comply with reasonable instructions and policies
- Report hazards, incidents, and near-misses immediately
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Participate in health and safety training
- Not work under the influence of drugs or alcohol

- Current workplace first aid certifications
- Height safety and scaffolding certifications
- Hazardous substances handling certifications where required
Client Safety Information
If you are visiting an active Action Homes construction site:
- Contact us in advance to arrange site visits
- Sign in and complete a visitor induction
- Wear provided PPE (hard hat, high-vis vest, safety footwear)
- Stay with your designated escort at all times
- Follow all safety signage and instructions
- Report any hazards or concerns to site management
